A tree in the Bremen Park has proven to be immune to the destructive habits of the Emerald Ash Borer.
Park Superintendent Brian Main said he’s working with the DNR and Arborists to look further into this unique situation.
“They’re interested in possibly trying to clone this tree because it’s shown strong resilience toward the beetle,” commented Main.
He said there are only few trees anywhere that haven’t been treated chemically that show resistance to the Emerald Ash Borer.
It may take a couple of months to go through the process, but Main said it’s a pretty interesting event to happen in the park.
