Tennessee Residents Face Multiple Charges Following Attempt to Flee from Police

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, two Tennessee residents are facing multiple charges following an incident that occurred near Argos Saturday night.

Authorities report that shortly before 9:50 p.m. on August 3rd, Marshall County Officer Andrew Wozniak attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a black, 1992 Ford passenger car in the area of US 31 and State Road 10.

The car reportedly failed to yield and sped off. The vehicle was pursued westbound on SR 10 to the area of Pine Road. The vehicle apparently drove through a yard and around a residence, then back eastbound on SR 10.

The police report states that Argos Police were able to set up stop sticks in the area of SR 10 and Muckshaw Road.

The suspect vehicle’s tires were deflated and the vehicle slowly came to a stop. A female passenger exited the vehicle and the driver allegedly attempted to continue driving but was unsuccessful.

The driver was identified as 53-year-old Carlos Ray McCoy Jr., of Humboldt, Tennessee and the passenger was found to be 49-year-old Diana Page Campbell, of Jackson, Tennessee.

McCoy was taken into custody and charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a syringe, criminal recklessness with a vehicle, reckless driving and driving while suspended will be filed with the prosecutor’s office.

Campbell was reportedly charged with assisting a criminal, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Argos and Culver Police Departments as well as Lyon’s Towing.
