A year-and-a-half after flooding devastated parts of Marshall County, the Plymouth Community School Corporation continues to be recognized for its role in the response efforts.
The school district recently received a certificate of appreciation from local Red Cross officials, according to Superintendent Andy Hartley.
“Their gratitude is still really overwhelming, and it goes back to when we had the flood and the work that [Director of Safety and Security] Ted [Brown] and others did in opening up our high school as a potential shelter site for one of the neighboring communities,”
Hartley said last week. “It didn’t need to be utilized, but the efforts that everyone put in, not just on staff, but in the community, they were still just, like I said, overwhelmed with gratitude and wanted to come in and provide a certificate of appreciation to the board for their support of that.”
Hartley shared the certificate with the school board during last week’s meeting.
