The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission will meet tonight where they will receive letters of intent for engineering services for the proposed Pioneer Drive project.
The commission members will continue a discussion surrounding funding of a fire truck. Fire Chief Rod Miller previously explained that the Cumulative Capital Development Fund through the city’s budget cannot support the purchase of a fire truck and asked the commission members for funding assistance.
During the July meeting, Miller and City Attorney Sean Surrisi discussed financing a new truck through the Indiana Bond Bank with a program called Hoosier Equipment Leasing Program. The Redevelopment Commission could work with US Bank in a lease-to-own situation where the city would put $200,000 in TIF funds as a down payment and finance the rest of the $700,000 cost. At the time, Miller wanted to talk more about the old fire truck’s inspection report and financing with Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver and take that information to tonight’s meeting.
In addition to that conversation, the commission members will get updates on all of the current projects including Hoham Drive, REES Theatre, Aquatic Center, Pretzels Inc., River Gate South, Winona Building Products, and Centennial Crossings.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Plymouth City Council chambers room on the second floor of the Plymouth City Building at 124 N. Michigan Street. Those planning to attend should use the Garro Street entrance.
