Plymouth Community School Corporation Restructuring Administrative Office Staff

The Plymouth Community School Corporation will no longer have a director of quality programs, but it will have an assistant to the assistant superintendent. Brooke Busse’s appointment as Webster Elementary School principal has given Superintendent Andy Hartley the chance to restructure the administrative office staff.

He told the school board Tuesday that he doesn’t plan to fill her former position of director of quality programs. Instead, most of those responsibilities will go to Assistant Superintendent Jill VanDriessche. “But with that, I ask that we hire an executive assistant who can provide a lot of the administrative task support to the assistant superintendent, in order to maintain compliance with the state and federal regulations tied to those grants,” Hartley said. “This will still allow Jill to provide leadership in those areas of academics, to which these grants support anyway.”

The new position will get a base pay rate of $17 to $22 an hour. Hartley also recommended renaming the “assistant executive secretary” position to “business office assistant” to more accurately reflect the job’s responsibilities.

The school board unanimously approved the changes, as part of an update to the classified staff conditions of employment. The elimination of the director of quality programs position was also reflected in the updated employee handbook approved by the school board Tuesday.
