John Glenn School Board Updated on RFP Process

John Glenn School Board

John Glenn School Superintendent Christopher Winchell updated the school board last week on a Request for Proposals for an audit of the corporation’s facilities.

He said there are two phases considered in the proposal.

“Phase one will look at immediate needs with the building envelope which includes roofing, windows, tuckpointing, and anything that keeps moisture out of the schools.  We’ll also look at LED lighting and mechanicals,” said Winchell.

The second phase will look at capacity issues.  As the student population continues to grow, with over 500 transfer students so far this year, the board members have expressed concern over classroom sizes and if there is enough room in the buildings to accommodate the growing number of students.  They are interested to find out if a building project is in the corporation’s future and plan accordingly

Winchell said there are quite a few companies that have expressed interest in submitting proposals in the effort.  More information will be provided in a future meeting.
