The Marshall County Council members are looking at finances which could include a discussion on an increase in taxes.
Marshall County Council President Judy Stone asked Auditor Julie Fox to contact the county’s financial advisor to see where the county stands with upcoming property tax caps and other revenue shortfalls in the coming years.
Raising the local income tax could be an action the council could take to help fund several potential projects that need to be tackled.
The council will look to see what options are available after speaking with the financial representative.
A work session may be planned in the next couple of months to look at the information provided and get a sense of a direction with the county’s finances.
