The John Glenn School Board members learned Tuesday night that transportation of Greene Township School students to John Glenn schools will feature a full bus.
During the school board’s last meeting, Superintendent Christopher Winchell asked the board members to consider the approval of a student pick-up and drop-off site at the Greene Township Community Building in St. Joseph County so a bus could transport Greene Township students enrolled at John Glenn. That request was approved.
Winchell explained that about 60 Greene Township students will be riding the bus to school and that’s about all the corporation is comfortable transporting on the bus. There won’t be any additional students the school will take on the bus.
Winchell noted that the corporation is fortunate enough to have one extra bus and one extra driver to accommodate those transfer students this school year.
Once the school year begins next week, Winchell said he’ll be able to better gauge how the arrangement is working.
