Bremen Town Council Approves Additional Readings on Wastewater Ordinance

The Bremen Town Council members approved the second and third readings of the wastewater ordinance.

In a previous meeting, Wastewater, Sanitary and Storm Water Department Superintendent Matt Cunningham told the council members that there are new requirements that were added to the existing paperwork including phosphorus and copper limits, contractor requirements, and surcharge limits.

Cunningham said if there are a certain amount of suspended solids or BODs discharged there will be a charge of $.11 per pound.

Users can be fined up to $2,500 which will be assessed by the wastewater superintendent.
