A “Triton Gives Back” service day is currently being planned and is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 20th.
While addressing the School Corporation’s core value of ‘alignment’ for the most recent school board meeting, Superintendent Jeremy Riffle shared that the service day will allow staff and students to live out the ‘Trojan Way’ by giving back to so many people who continue to support the school system.
He noted that there will be a number of opportunities for school officials and students to serve the local communities in a variety of different ways.
According to Riffle, that could mean card making, conducting a park clean-up, creating tie blankets and visiting area nursing homes as well as participating in Operation Quiet Comfort, volunteering for the Bread of Life Food Pantry, assisting local churches and helping out with Blessings in a Backpack.
Superintendent Riffle added that a t-shirt drive will be held leading up to the service day so every student can sport some Triton wear on this day, regardless of whether they have attended the corporation for years or not.
