The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members looked at several documents ready to close out the Candy Lane storm sewer improvement project.
The purpose of the project was to alleviate a flooding issue in the area.
While the project is complete, Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson asked that the substantial completion date be approved which was deemed to be May 29.
Davidson also asked for a change order of an increase of $829.40 following the total of unit quantities, which was less than one percent of the actual bid for the project. Davidson commented that he was satisfied with the bid amount. With the change order, the total cost of the project was $1,070,577.05.
The final request was for the release of the project’s retainage for Selge Construction in the amount of $53,487.38 which was included in the final pay application. The final punchlist items are done and one year warranty is good for the project from the date of the substantial completion.
All requests were approved with a unanimous vote as presented.
Davidson added that all inspections were done internally which saved the city $45,000 in fees.
