Menominee and Webster elementary schools’ next principals have been named. Craig Hopple was appointed to take over at Menominee, and Brooke Busse was selected for Webster, during Tuesday’s Plymouth School Board meeting.
Superintendent Andy Hartley said they were chosen from a field of more than 40 applicants. “Mr. Hopple, in his seven years with us as assistant principal at Lincoln Junior High, has shown a passion for kids and building positive relationships in the school community,” Hartley said. “Prior to coming to Plymouth, he was in Culver as an elementary teacher and then an elementary assistant principal, and so I know he’s excited to, if you will, get back to the elementary level, and serve the kids and families and teachers and staff of Menominee Elementary School.”
Hopple told board members that he’s excited for the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Busse goes to Webster Elementary School after serving as the school corporation’s director of qualify programs since 2015. Hartley noted that her entire professional career has been in Plymouth Schools. “She’s been a teacher, an instructional coach, and then an administrator here, providing oversight over our federal programs,” Hartley said. “She has a vast array of experiences and knowledge that I’m confident will serve the students and the families and the teachers and staff of Webster exceedingly well.”
Busse said she’s excited to get back to the building level. “There is an absolute phenomenal staff at Webster,” she said, “and so I’m so excited to become part of that Webster family.”
Also during Tuesday’s meeting, Busse, Hopple, and 14 other administrators had their contracts renewed through June of 2021. The contracts of Assistant Superintendent Jill VanDriessche and High School Principal Jim Condon were renewed through June of 2022.
