The Culver School Board is gearing up for the start of the next school year. Superintendent Karen Shuman says board members recently took action to fill some open positions, “A new math teacher, a replacement of retired John Browder, and also replacing a special education position for our elementary and hiring a school psychologist and a speech pathologist that we’re doing through a contract.”
She says both the new school psychologist and speech pathologist are still working on their degrees, and they will both have a liaison to oversee their work.
In other business last month, the Culver School Board approved the addition of a girls varsity golf team this fall. Shuman says about 15 students have expressed interest.
