Bremen Town Council Holds Preliminary Discussion Concerning Fireworks

The Bremen Town Council members briefly discussed the possibility of having two fireworks shows in the coming years.  One show would be during the Bremen Firemen’s Festival in June and another around the Fourth of July.

In his report to the Bremen Town Council members last week, Fire Chief Matt Neher said he believes revenue is up from last year’s Firemen’s Festival due to the fact that they moved it to not interfere with the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair.

Councilman Bill Daily asked if the committee was contemplating moving the fireworks from the Firemen’s Festival to the Fourth of July.  Council President Michael Leman said he got some complaints about the town not holding a firework show on the Fourth of July since it’s typically held during the festival.  That’s when the discussion started about the possibility of two shows.

The council members did not made any decisions last week.  Neher will discuss the topic more with the council members in future meetings.
