The Plymouth City Council members approved necessary paperwork Monday night to complete the tax abatement request process for Indiana Wheel Company and Culver Tool and Engineering, Inc.
The Indiana Wheel Company will start up operations in Plymouth, as an expansion project from its parent facility in China, in the 300,000 square foot production facility that formerly housed Bay Valley Foods. The company plans to invest approximately $23 million in the expansion and plans to create nearly 117 jobs by 2022. Those who work at Indiana Wheel Company will fabricate, assemble, and distribute steel wheels.
Culver Tool and Engineering, Inc. needs to expand its ever growing business that manufactures spinal implants and other bone implants in the medical field. A $3.7 million expansion is planned with more employees to be added to its growing number of workers. The project will create 10 new jobs and aid in the retention of over 180 existing employees.
