A Culver man was injured in an overnight accident at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Plymouth-Goshen Trail on Wednesday.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies say that shortly before 3:30 a.m. 63-year-old Gary W. Altheide of Culver was traveling northeast on Plymouth-Goshen Trail and failed to yield to a semi traveling west on U.S. 30. The right angle collision caused injuries to Altheide who was airlifted from the scene and taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
The driver of the semi, 27-year-old John C. Hilworth of New Haven, Indiana, was not injured.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Fire and EMS and the Plymouth Police Department.
