A Ligonier woman is in the Marshall County Jail after a call was made to police about a suspicious person shortly after midnight on Monday.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy responded to the Speedway in Lapaz and while the officer was conducting an investigation, police say 25-year-old Cynthia Lizette Villarreal attempted to flee from the officer. She was reportedly apprehended quickly and taken to the Marshall County Jail where she was booked on preliminary charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.
Suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
