Students at the John Glenn School Corporation will benefit from scholarships after a generous donation was made by the Branson and Mary Lou Hiatt Family Foundation.
Superintendent Richard Reese said $100,000 will go into the John Glenn Education Foundation for scholarships for students. He mentioned that the scholarship opportunities are open-ended.
Reese said he’s not sure yet about how much money will be offered in the scholarships per year or how many scholarships will be given each year. There will be more information on guidelines at the next school board meeting.
The John Glenn School Board members expressed their appreciation for the generous donation to help John Glenn students. Reese mentioned that it’s the biggest donation that he’s seen come into the corporation during his time at the school.
