The John Glenn School Board members took action Tuesday night to approve the hire of a new principal at Urey Middle School.
Tresa Hammond has been at the school corporation for 11 years as the Special Education Case Conference Chairperson. She worked with Business Manager Tom Bendy in securing out grant applications to assist special education students.
Hammond follows Mark Maudlin whose last day is June 30. He will serve as the next principal at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Valparaiso.
Superintendent Richard Reese commented that the staff at the Urey Middle School should be in good hands under Hammond’s leadership.
