The Culver Community Schools Corporation is moving forward with upgrades to its heating and cooling systems. Last week, the school board gave its approval for a new HVAC control unit, according to Superintendent Karen Shuman.
“Initially, in our capital projects, we had ‘replacing the chillers on the roof,'” she explains, “but before we want to go down the replacing the chillers [route], we’re going to change the box that communicates to the chillers, to see if that is more effective than just replacing the chillers.”
The school corporation has been working with Trane on the heating and cooling upgrades. Shuman says the new control unit is within the scope of the existing agreement that had previously been approved.
