The Bremen Town Council members considered a resolution that would rename a road in memory of Steve Ervin, the late Cemetery Superintendent.
Bremen Town Council President Michael Leman read aloud from the resolution that recognizes Ervin’s commitment to the town as the Cemetery Sexton for 38 years and improved and expanded the grounds under his leadership, in addition to his meticulous upkeep to those visiting the cemetery.
“…Be it further resolved by the town council of the Town of Bremen, Indiana, that the main drive running east to west on the south side of the mausoleum shall hereby now be named ‘Steve Ervin Dr.’,” said Leman.
The council members unanimously approved the resolution as presented. The resolution was then given to Ervin’s wife, Becky, who indicated that Steve would have been proud to have this honor. Becky will also receive a street sign to keep as a gift from the town.
