Bourbon Town Council Holds Final Reading over Junk Vehicle Ordinance

The Bourbon Town Council recently passed an amended junk vehicle ordinance.

Talks about making changes to the ordinance began back in February when officials decided some of the language within the existing policy needed to be updated to provide clarity for residents as well as the police officers tasked with enforcing the rules.

At that time, Town Attorney Anthony Wagner noted that council members were looking to make more of a distinction between vehicles that are being fixed or in the process of being plated versus ones that are left to sit for extended periods of time.

The first reading over the amended ordinance was held when members met in April, followed by a second reading in May and the third and final reading took place when members met this month.

Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger said there was no opposition was voiced during the meeting and members voted to pass the ordinance unanimously.
