Community members are encouraged to spring into summertime during the annual Argos Summer Kickoff Festival this weekend.
It all gets started tonight at 5 p.m. when the kiddie rides, bounce houses, vendors and food booths will open up to the public at the Argos Community Park.
Registration for the Festival Pageant will take place at 5:30 p.m. and the pageant will be held at 6 p.m.
In conjunction with the festival, a community movie night will be held. The movie Trolls will be played around 9 p.m. Free popcorn and drinks will be provided but community members are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating.
The festivities will continue on Saturday with registration for the Scholar Sprint running from 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. in the northwest pavilion. The 1-mile fun run will start at 8:30 a.m. while the 5 k and 10 k will take place at 9 a.m.
The annual parade is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. The line-up will start at 9 a.m. at the Marshall County Fair Grounds.
There are a number of events that will be happening throughout the day on Saturday, including a variety of entertainment acts and sports tournaments.
The Argos Summer Kickoff Festival will conclude with a fireworks display at 10:10 p.m. Saturday night.
Event goers are reminded that parking will be at the High School. It will cost $3 per vehicle and proceeds will benefit different school groups. Trams will run from the parking lot to the park on both days of the event.
