A Plymouth man was taken into custody Friday morning after police were dispatched to a residence on Berkley Street for a welfare check.

Plymouth Police Officer Steve DeLee reports that an investigation was conducted and it was determined the male at the scene, 35-year-old Zachary Howard, had reportedly battered the female inside.

Howard was taken to the Marshall County Jail where he was charged with domestic battery, strangulation and criminal confinement.
