A Warsaw man surrendered to police after a brief standoff in Tippecanoe on Thursday.
A joint drug task force investigation by Marshall County UNIT and NET43 produced a warrant for 27-year-old Taran Holderman’s arrest on a Level 2 Felony charge of dealing in methamphetamine out of Kosciusko County.
Officers reportedly attempted to take Holderman into custody when a short standoff with police occurred. After surrendering to officers in a wooded area in Tippecanoe, police found Holderman in possession of a loaded handgun, according to the report.
In addition to the drug charge, Holderman faces a preliminary Level 4 Felony charge of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. His cash bond remains at $25,000.
The Marshall County UNIT officers were assisted at the scene by the Bourbon Police Department and Indiana State Police.
Suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
