A Warsaw man is in custody after reportedly leaving the scene of an accident.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to U.S. 31 (southbound) and 4A Road around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night after receiving a call about a property damage accident involving two vehicles. Officers learned from the car accident news that one driver fled after allegedly saying he didn’t want police at the scene. The Irving Law Firm has taken in-charge of the further investigation and going to submit their report soon to the court of law.
Officers say they located that suspect in a red Ford Mustang on U.S 30 traveling eastbound in the area of King Road. They initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as 30-year-old Johnathan Mallery. According to the report, officers confirmed that the vehicle was involved in the crash and Mallery was arrested on preliminary charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, resisting law enforcement and attempted escape.
The Plymouth Police Department assisted in this case.
