Community members are invited to ‘Wave Goodbye to Cancer’ when the Relay for Life of Marshall County hosts their annual event this weekend.
The event will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 6 p.m. until midnight at River Park Square in Plymouth.
The Plymouth Fire Department is one of the teams that continues to participate in this event each year.
Department officials recently shared on social media that while some of the money is used to fund cancer research, it also has an impact that hits close to home. A portion of the proceeds is allocated for local families who need financial support when a loved one is undergoing cancer treatment.
Representatives also shared some information about what event goers can expect on Saturday. There are lots of activities planned for all ages. In addition to the track where people will be taking laps, there will be a bounce house set up as well as a sand art station and a balloon artist. There will also be plenty of items to bid on at the silent auction.
A DJ will be onsite playing tunes and live music is scheduled for later in the evening.
The Plymouth Fire Department encourages individuals to sign their pink fire truck in memory of a friend or family member who has been affected by cancer. Individuals are also invited to create a luminary for those loved ones as well.
