INDOT to Suspend Road Work for Memorial Day Travel

Most road work will be suspended over the Memorial Day weekend, but a few restrictions and reduced speed limits will remain in place, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

In Plymouth, U.S. 30 is still down to one lane in each direction at State Road 17, as is the U.S. 35 bridge in Downtown LaPorte. In St. Joseph County, State Road 23 is down to a single lane controlled by a temporary signal at the bridge over Potato Creek.

U.S. 20 remains closed at the intersection with State Road 2 in LaPorte County, while State Road 2 is down to one lane in each direction there. Lane closures remain in effect on portions of I-65 in Lake County and I-69 in Grant, Allen, and Steuben counties.

Meanwhile, state and local police are taking part in a Click It or Ticket mobilization between now and June 2. Those traveling this weekend are encouraged to buckle up, allow extra travel time, and stay informed on road conditions. You can find traffic alerts and work zone information at indot.carsprogram.org.
