A Plymouth man was airlifted to a South Bend hospital after a two car accident early Tuesday morning.
Plymouth police officers responded to the area of N. Michigan Street and Plymouth-Goshen Trail at 6:44 a.m.
An investigation reportedly revealed that a Honda CRV driven by 19-year-old Gabriela Ruiz Licona of Plymouth was rear-ended by a Lincoln MKX driven by 76-year-old Richard Featherstone of Plymouth. The impact sent Featherstone’s vehicle out of control, rolling a number of times before coming to rest in the CVS parking lot, according to the report.
Police say Featherstone was extricated from the vehicle and then transported by helicopter to a South Bend hospital. Licona reportedly refused treatment.
The Plymouth Police Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Fire Department and EMS.
