The Argos Town Council took action this week to separate rules about off-road vehicles from rules about golf carts.
Back in February, members voted to add regulations regarding off-road vehicles or UTVs to the Town’s golf cart ordinance.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney stated that in order for officials to be able to make specific amendments in the future the council felt the two vehicles should have their own ordinances.
In addition to creating separate ordinances to regulate the different types of vehicles, members decided to remove operation fees altogether. Mullaney mentioned that there were some other minor amendments that were included in the updated versions.
The rules were suspended during Wednesday night’s town council meeting so each ordinance could be passed on first reading.
