The Argos Town Council recognized a dedicated community member as the town’s ‘Economic Development Champion’ when they met for their final meeting of the month.
Councilman Dylan Colburn explained that officials are currently working out the details related to the Director of Economic Development position. He noted that this will be a voluntary, unpaid position.
Argos Community Development Corporation (ACDC) President Mark VanDerWeele was identified to be the most ideal candidate for the position.
However, town council members decided to name him ‘Economic Development Champion’ for the time being as they work to finalize details related to the director’s position. A motion to that effect was made and passed with unanimous approval.
Council President George Null noted that VanDerWeele has essentially been serving in this capacity for the town already and now they’re just attaching a title to it.
