The Argos Town Council passed a resolution last Wednesday related to an Economic Development Director position.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney said the document was passed with one change which adjusted the appointment procedure. Before, the position would be appointed by an executive on the council, such as the president. With the amendment, the full council now has that authority.
The Economic Development Director has not been officially selected yet. Mullaney said the chosen individual will serve as a link between town officials and organizations as well as businesses. She noted that at this time, it is an unpaid position.
Anyone who feels like they’d be a good fit for the position is welcome to submit a letter of interest. Submitting an LOI is by no means a guarantee for the position. However, it allows officials to have a variety of options to choose from and gives community members a chance to show how they can provide assistance.
Letters can be submitted to Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, located at 201 W. Walnut Street.
