Bremen Town Council Rejects Bid for Equipment

Officials in the town of Bremen will need to decide what to do with a piece of surplus property.

A pick-up truck previously used by the Street Department crews and most recently the Electric Department was advertised for sale.  Sealed bids were accepted as advertised and only one bid was received.  Town Attorney Anthony Wagner opened the bid Monday afternoon from Tyler Dardy who submitted a bid much less than what the truck is worth.

Electric Department Superintendent Jay Stoneburner said he spoke to many people about the truck but they didn’t submit a sealed bid to be considered.

The advertisement did state that the council had the right to reject any and all bids and accept the one that is in the best interest of the town.  The council approved a motion to reject the bid.

Officials will decide what to do with the truck and report back.
