Argos officials will host a public workshop next week in order to work out details related to the proposed local business and building incentive programs.
It was reported in a previous meeting that these programs will allow the town to set aside a certain amount of funding that could be requested by business or building owners who are looking to make improvements to their operations or facility.
When town council members met for their final meeting of the month, they went over the resolutions connected to the incentive programs and had some input about some potential additions.
There was an indication that there should be more of a distinction between what’s expected of existing businesses versus new or developing businesses. Members also voiced a desire to have the applicants’ accountability be more apparent so officials will have no questions about credibility or how the town-funding is being spent.
The workshop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1st. It will be held in Argos Town Hall.
