Early voting in Marshall County is starting to pick up as we near Primary Municipal Election Day on Tuesday, May 7.
As of Thursday morning, 244 voters cast an absentee ballot. So far 186 walk-in votes have been cast, 12 ballots have been returned by mail and 46 votes have been collected by the Travel Board.
The Marshall County Clerk’s Office is open for absentee voting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Satellite voting locations for early voting will be at the Bremen Town Hall and the Culver Town Hall on Saturday, April 27 and Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Voting will also be available on those Saturdays at the Marshall County Clerk’s Office.
Early voting by travel board can be conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The last day to vote absentee in the Marshall County Clerk’s office or by travel board is Monday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Clerk Deb VanDeMark stated that the Plymouth Community School’s referendum question has drawn a lot of attention to this Primary Election. The referendum asks voters to approve an increase of the property tax rate up to 19 cents per each $100 of assessed valuation for eight years following the passage of the referendum. The funding will support student safety initiatives, mental health support and programs, and attracting and retaining teachers
