Today is Earth Day!
The Marshall County Commissioners officially signed a proclamation last week that celebrates today as Earth Day.
The Marshall County Health Department will be offering free rapid arsenic testing today for those living on a well. The water sample must come in a clean container with at least eight ounces of water.
A celebratory kick-off is planned at noon today at the Centennial Park horse barn. An Indiana Department of Environmental Management Groundwater Specialist will give a presentation and local elementary school children will share a few thoughts about the meaning of Earth Day. They will join the Director of Ecological Relationships at the Center at Donaldson on a nature walk around 1 p.m. as they plant seeds throughout the park.
A residential well water expo will be featured tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wild Rose Moon. According to Health Department officials, information will be provided on how a well works, what to look for, what services are available, where to test, and more.
