Officials with the Marshall County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are hosting a walk/run event to bring awareness to the need to assist children in the county.
The 1st Annual Walk/Run will be at the LifePlex Fitness Forum at 2855 Miller Drive on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. where members of the public are welcome to stop by and walk a lap.
More information about CASA will be provided as CASA volunteers will talk about their commitment to speaking in the best interest of children who are abused or neglected in the court system and in life.
There are currently 27 active volunteers. In 2018, they assisted 96 children who were deemed abused or neglected.
An entry fee to Saturday’s event is not required, but a freewill donation will be graciously accepted. Gift bags will be given to the first 50 people who attend and walk a lap to support the organization.
