Bourbon Town Council Permits Community Crossings Projects to be Advertised

The Bourbon Town Council permitted the engineering firm JPR to advertise the town’s Community Crossings Projects to prospective bidders when members met last Tuesday. The bids will be opened during the council’s May meeting.

As a reminder, Bourbon was among the municipalities who were not awarded Community Crossings funds in the last round. Back when awards were announced in November, only about 283 communities received funding out of the 444 who applied.

In the most recent grant round, Bourbon was awarded approximately $295,650.

Clerk-Treasurer Kim Berger shared that the funding will go toward projects that aren’t focused on one specific area. Instead, the work will involve resurfacing a number of roads and replacing adjacent sidewalks throughout town.
