Triton School Board members approved a major tech-upgrade for the high school when they met Monday night.
According to Superintendent Jeremy Riffle the school board permitted 315 Google Chromebooks to be purchased from Firefly Computers for $92,950. He added that the cost for the computers will come out of the Capital Projects line item in the newly established Operations Fund.
This isn’t the first time the school corporation has utilized this company for some new technology.
In April of last year, funding from the Indiana Department of Education’s digital learning grant was spent on some computers for some of the lower grade levels.
Back then, members approved one quote of $23,795 which covered the cost of 90 Chromebooks for the 6th grade. They also approved a quote of $25,592 for some storage carts and 90 Chromebooks for the 2nd grade.
