The Plymouth Board of Public Works members reviewed a bid for paint work on the Parkview Tower.
Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson explained to the board that the bid recommended for approval wasn’t the lowest bid.
“One was for a better quality of paint than what was spec’d on the base bid,” said Davidson. “It had a better sheen and the life expectancy of that sheen going up to the 15 to 20 years was part of the feature.”
The alternate bid also included the city’s logo, but a computer graphic layout didn’t support that added feature.
Davidson recommended the bid from Fedewa, Inc. with the paint as an alternate at a cost of $239,740.
The board members unanimously approved the bid as recommended by Davidson.
