Seven inmates at the Marshall County Jail took the first step in the recovery process by completing the Substance Education Program.
The male inmate population is given weekly evidence-based substance abuse education lead by Program Facilitator and Community Corrections Case Manager Josh Pitts. The same curriculum is given to the female population by Community Corrections Recovery Coach Dawn Quimby.
The Marshall County Jail Treatment Program is funded by an Indiana Department of Corrections grant.
Community Corrections Director Ward Byers said that it’s programs like this that are an important start to recovery.
