The Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District is offering help to residents who need to get rid of invasive species.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture identifies invasive species as a plant, animal or other organism that is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health. Invasive species must be controlled as they often spread aggressively and replace native species.
In the fall of 2018, the members Arrow Head Country RC&D organization hired a Northwest Invasive Species Resource Specialist. Since the Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District is a member of the organization, the specialist will form a local group to combat invasive species.
If residents are facing a problem with invasive species, or would like to be a part of the group, call 574-936-2024 ext. 3.
