The Plymouth Community School Corporation will be able to continue accepting transfer students next school year, following action by the school board. The school board took the annual step Tuesday of setting an official transfer deadline and grade-level capacities.

Students who live outside the district will be allowed to transfer into Plymouth Schools right up until the last day of the 2019-2020 school year, May 28. The official capacity will be 325 students per grade level from kindergarten through eighth grade, with an unlimited capacity at the high school level.

Assistant Superintendent Jill VanDriessche told board members that while the Plymouth Community School Corporation accepts out-of-district students, it hasn’t been actively advertising. She said interested families seem to be able to get a hold of the central office or individual school.

The school board also approved an annual agreement that will officially allow the school corporation to continue getting funding for its adult education program. Superintendent Andy Hartley told board members that the program has been successful, with classes being offered on-campus, at the library, and even in the Marshall County Jail.
