The campaign finance period for the May Primary Municipal Election ends Friday, April 12. The deadline for candidates to file those reports is Monday, April 22.
All candidates running in the May Primary Municipal Election are required to have campaign finance reports into the clerk’s office by noon on April 22.
If there weren’t any finances recorded, paperwork indicating that fact still needs to be filed in the clerk’s office.
The Marshall County Election Board fines a candidate $50 per day the paperwork is not filed in the clerk’s office following the deadline. The candidate can appeal the fine in a public hearing held before the board members. The board has the ultimate decision on either waiving the fine or reducing the fine on a case by case basis.
