Bremen Town Council Declares Police, Park Equipment as Surplus

Two pieces of equipment from the Town of Bremen will be advertised for sealed bid.

Bremen Police Chief Brad Kile asked the Bremen Town Council members this week to declare an old Drug Task Force vehicle as surplus property.  Kile said they purchased a 2006 GMC Envoy in 2012 and no longer need it.  The DTF will have a different car provided by a car dealership for $1, if the bid is approved for new patrol vehicles.

The bid recommendation was taken under advisement, but the town council members approved the request to declare the GMC vehicle as surplus.

In that same vein, Park Superintendent Brian Main also requested that a trash truck and a yellow flatbed truck be declared as surplus.  The idea is to convert his truck into the trash truck by installing a flatbed on his truck.  Main said one vehicle would be eliminated in the process. The Bremen Town Council members approved the request as presented with a unanimous vote.
