Argos officials were alerted last Wednesday that AccuMed recently sent in the first payment that was collected from a Fire Department run.
As reminder, town council members took action last year to start billing Fire Department runs through AccuMed, the same collection company the town utilizes for EMS runs.
Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney told members that a total of $750 was collected from just one FD run. She noted that before the switch, they would get an average of $500 for a structure fire run so this first collection shows a noticeable improvement.
Mullaney mentioned that this first payment was from a run in December and explained that the collection process takes a bit of time. Fire Chief Mark Dean stated that more run payments should be rolling in pretty soon.
