Plymouth City Council Approves Agreement for Marshall County Council on Aging Support

The Plymouth City Council members were presented with a final agreement regarding funding for the Marshall County Council on Aging.

A total of 10,000 will be given toward the support of transportation while $5,000 will go toward the maintenance of the building, as approved by the council members at their last meeting.  The transportation support increased $2,000 from recent donations to assist more citizens needing transportation services offered by the Marshall County Council on Aging.  More than 600 denials were given out last year.

The $5,000 given toward maintenance was found to be well appropriated within the function of the facility.  Councilman Jeff Houin stated that he spoke with Director Jackie Wright who stated that the money is appropriated as needed.  Expenses exceed $25,000 so the need is there for those funds.

There is a provision in this agreement that an audit may be performed by city officials or the city’s designee as records relate to the facility with reasonable advance notice.

The agreement supersedes all previous funding resolutions or agreements.

The Plymouth City Council members approved the agreement as presented.  Councilman Bill Walters abstained from the vote.
