Upcoming work at Plymouth’s north water tower was discussed during last week’s board of works meeting.
Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson reported that Dixon Engineering has completed specifications for repainting the water tower, according to Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver, and board members agreed to let him proceed with advertising for contractors.
Meanwhile, Building Commissioner Keith Hammonds said he’s working on getting new software for building permits. Xaver says Plymouth currently uses Marshall County’s system. “We’re going to separate out and do our own software because we’ll be able to manipulate it better to meet our needs,” she explains, “and I believe he said it would be the first of May before that would be online.”
In other business last week, Xaver says the board of works conditionally approved a contract with Sharon Dotta for cleaning, housekeeping, and janitorial services for the second floor of the City Building. That includes the offices of the mayor and city attorney, as well as the city council chambers.
