The Marshall County Election Board members took action this week to approve the Vote Center locations for the May Primary Municipal Election.
With the added voters in West Township for the Plymouth Community School Corporation operating referendum on the ballot, the Pretty Lake Church will be used as a Vote Center on May 7 along with the Bremen High School, the Matchett Center in Bourbon, the Armory and Knights of Columbus buildings in Plymouth, and the Culver Train Depot.
A lot of discussion surrounded the placement of Vote Centers in Plymouth. The board members thought the Plymouth High School was a good location for a Vote Center in the last election, but it was noted that having it there may be a conflict with the referendum question on the ballot.
Construction efforts at the Armory building are still ongoing and if that building is not available for the May Primary Municipal Election, the Marshall County REMC building could be used.
The Vote Center plan will be amended to reflect the location changes and the number of workers and the number of machines will be included in the packet to be sent to the Indiana Election Division. The plan will be amended again before the November General Municipal Election to include Vote Center sites for Lapaz and Argos voters when those candidates appear on the fall ballot.
