Argos EMS Director Sarah McCallum was looking for some clarification about the town’s purchasing procedures during last week’s Town Council meeting.
McCallum, who took over for former EMS Director Richie Miller after he resigned at the end of 2018, informed the members that she’s interested in getting quotes on how much a new ambulance stretcher would cost.
She explained wasn’t sure if that was something that would require the council’s approval. Council members informed her that is was and then permitted her to do so. She said she will do some research and bring those quotes to the council for consideration when members meet in March.
McCallum also reminded the council that the EMS Department has only been using one vehicle so far this year because the other one is being worked on. She said she expects both ambulances to be back in service by the end of the month.
